Keith & Judy Scott


Keith Scott and his wife Judy founded Beachcomber Hot Tubs in 1978 in Surrey, British Columbia. They built some of the industry’s first hot tubs, and have been recognized as some of the first to adapt the vacuum form acrylic material into a world-renowned hot tub. Thanks to their focus on integrity and customer service, Beachcomber has come to be known for its zero defects approach during the manufacturing process, with special attention to quality control.

Beachcomber came from humble beginnings. This small group of committed people, developed to always doing what was right for Beachcomber Owners, which over time has become a respected worldwide hot tub brand. Below is a timeline of how Beachcomber came to be the company it is today.

Since 1978, we have distributed Beachcomber Hot Tubs through your local independent store. They are equipped to service your hot tub and to provide you with Beachcomber's signature support, so that you are able to have the best Beachcomber experience possible. And we make sure that they are number 1 or number 2 in every market that we are represented in. Beachcomber has been a very successful company, and we look forward to the next generation of success. Because when they win, we win too, and Beachcomber remains strong to support our worldwide customers.

We have been devoted to the design and building of only hot tubs. Beachcomber does not manufacture any other product; we can focus 100% of our resources on the best modern design and quality. The business climate is a changing one, but one thing that does not change in Beachcomber is our desire for education for the hot tub buyer. From this website called “The Beachcomber Voice”, to the books and videos we have to offer, it is all designed to show our buyers how the price of a hot tub is directly affected by the quality level. We are committed to quality!

We do not serve distant shareholders with disguised profits, we serve each other within Beachcomber, and we serve our customers who trust us with their hot tub purchase. 1980 - 1982
  • Judy Scott starts the Purity Company to support hot tub owners with simple programs to keep hot tub water clean and clear
  •  The industry’s first North American Customer Care Support Line is set up to support hot tub owners
  • New Protec 3000 construction features cab forward equipment with expanding cavity foam for energy efficiency

BEACHCOMBER'S Timeline

1993 - 1996
  • Beachcomber invents "Body Molded Hand Grips" and "The Gravity Floor Drain", to give owners safety and convenience at no extra cost
  • The industry’s first programmable Energy Saver digital technology with a topside programmable control pad
  • New Reflex Foot Massage gives extra foot therapy and massage, along with WaterPorts for interchangeable, customized jetting choices

19992001
  • Beachcomber’s Care Free Water Care system debuts
  • Pioneers the digital, long lasting EverLite, and the 24/7 Hush Pump independent circulation, heating and cleaning system
  • The first synthetic hot tub skirting called Enviroskirt debuts, eventually replaces wood skirting to help preserve our environment
  • Logo changes for the first time to reflect the female image of Tethys, to honor our mothers and the women in our world

2003 - 2006

  • Keith Scott named an award finalist for Ernst & Young "Entrepreneur of the Year"
  • Receives the 8th annual Cultural Diversity Award, and selected as a finalist for the Top 21 Export Awards
  • Consumer Buyer’s Guide Version 19 for customer information and education, printing tops 647,500 copies
  • Factory staff supports their friend Frank Scott with a head shave event for 44 people, raising $40,000 for Cancer Research
  • Beachcomber's 150th appearance on "The Price is Right", the longest running TV Game Show in history

2007 - 2010


  • New ClearTech UVC Water Care System debuts, to give customers a clean way to keep hot tub water sparkling
  • Beachcomber’s LEEP Edition gives our customers five options for energy efficiency and beauty in form, fit and function
  • The factory produces the worlds' first Hybrid Edition Hot Tub with a $3,339 Factory EcoRebate special offer for extra savings
  • Energy Guide tags show new energy consumption facts, with Straight Goods magazine available to retail consumers

  • The new SLB edition along with Factory Enhancements and Employee Pricing gives stores more promotions to sell hot tubs
