Tips for Entertaining Outside

Tips for Entertaining Outside

Finish off summer with a bang! If you’re expecting guests (within your social bubble) this weekend, follow these tips to ensure that your backyard gathering is a smash hit.

Don't forget these important elements of backyard entertaining...

Fire Up the Grill

Summer is officially the season of grilling. And dining al fresco is the perfect opportunity to get creative with what you barbeque, ditching the traditional burgers and hot dogs. If you have a fire pit, you can rip open a bag of marshmallows when the sun sets to delight kids and adults alike with s’mores.

Plan Seating

If you don’t have a designated outdoor patio set, consider re-purposing lighter pieces of indoor furniture, and dress everything up with summery accessories (think colourful pillows, small potted plants, glass vases). Incorporate shading into your plan as well, and strategically place a cantilever umbrella close to your seating to keep guests cool and happy.

Snacks and Drinks

Keep these well stocked and flowing freely! Gather things like extra utensils, serving utensils, plates, cups, napkins, and condiments and keep them on a table or tea cart nearby, so you’re not rushing in and out of the house to serve refreshments during the party.

Prep Your Hot Tub

As a key component of your backyard oasis, your Beachcomber needs to be in top shape for your guests to enjoy. Test the hot tub levels at least a few days in advance, to ensure your water is balanced and healthy with the proper Water Care products. Also remember that right before a high usage period of your hot tub is a good time for a drain and re-fill.
