When fiberglass and acrylic tubs began to grow in popularity, Keith Scott and the Scott family saw an opportunity to make high quality portable hot tubs. With many manufacturers producing low quality tubs, it was a chance to make a difference and provide customers with a long-lasting place to escape from their everyday lives.
How It Began
In the 1970’s, people were working more and spending less time with their families. They were experiencing higher levels of stress which meant that it was important to make time to relax and rewind. The Scott family felt passionately that the best way to do this was through escaping your day-to-day life and connecting with those you love. This was where the idea for Beachcomber Hot Tubs began.
With the rise in demand for portable hot tubs, and experience with the pool industry, the Scott family began to work on their own brand of hot tub. Their main priorities with building this tub were to create something of high-quality that doubled as a place for family and friends to get together, distraction free.
This is why the design of the tub was inspired by a campfire. Keith believed that when everyone was sitting around the fire, distractions aside, just talking and spending time together, that this was the key to connectivity. This is why the Beachcomber has seats all around the tub because it forces people to look at each other and spend time together.
It was on the 14th of February 1978 that the Scott family founded Beachcomber Hot Tubs in the Surrey factory location. Since then, they have been producing hot tubs for 45 years – inspiring a healthier, happier life.
